Greetings, Boils and Ghouls!

Time moves ever onward, and whether we wish to follow or not, we must march with it. History is a testament that time will continue its relentless passage, with or without our presence. Within this inevitability, my passion for history first took root-an obsession that has become entwined within the fabric of my art. History is all-encompassing, from the ancient past to the fleeting moments of the present, both the real and the imagined. I am fascinated by the darker, more sinister corners of history and the forgotten horrors that linger like shadows, unwelcome and yet unrelenting. I seek to craft something that evokes both unease and wonder; a strange, uncanny vision that challenges the viewer’s comfort zone by embracing contradiction. My use of vivid, almost unnatural colors is an attempt to offer a delicate balance. Amidst the discomfort, there is an invitation to find comfort in the brightness. The world is a stage where darkness and brilliant hues collide, and it is within this dichotomy that my art takes shape.
I am drawn to the eerie and grotesque elements that linger just beyond the edge of reality. The influences of pop culture, bright colors, and the gothic aesthetic inspire my work. Though I aim for realism, I revel in moments where my creations take on a fantastical, exaggerated, almost illustrative life of their own. When my work is more pop culture-based, I use screenprinting to achieve a flat, nearly mechanical look of mass-produced prints to frame the contemporary subject. When my work is based around history or gothic influence, I prefer relief printing to use the textures of the block to enhance the woodblock look for a sense of age and history.
Thank you for stopping by, enjoy your stay!
Yours truly,
Brittany xoxo
